Catching Echoes

Can a wish echo through time? I think so. I had the opportunity to visit several shrines in Japan, and I was struck by the sheer volume of prayers and wishes left by people there throughout history. Coins, lit candles, tiny white papers tied to racks like wings. I couldn't touch or hold this sense of longing and sacredness, but I could feel it seeping into me. The air was thick with soul, and a fine, age-worn reverence. I hope I can learn how to ink that same humanity into my pages!
